Q - Can I use any Web Cam with My Watchful Eye?
A - Yes. As long as it is installed and recognized by your Windows OS.

Q - Can I use My Watchful Eye to monitor an outdoor area?
A - Yes. My watchful Eye can adjust itself to varying environments.

Q - Do I need a special web browser?
A - No. The web pages are viewable by any HTML capable browser that view images.

Q - What is My Watchful Client?
A - My Watchful Client is the Client software that comes with My Watchful Eye. It allows you to log in to and control the video stream server. It can decrypt the encoded video and transfer capture control to a remote location.

Q - Can I stream video and access the browser at the same time?
A - Yes. Video Streaming and the Web Server are separate operations.

Q - What is the largest data packet size I can stream? A - The largest image file that can be sent in a single packet is 20K. The average packet size is between 2K and 5K.

Q - What is frame rate of the video stream?
A - Maximum frame rate will depend on your processor speed. The frame rate interval in milliseconds is user definable. The minimum system requirements runs at about 10 frames per second on average.

Q - Can I adjust the JPEG compression of the images?
A - Yes. It is adjustable through the menu settings under Settings - System - JPEG Compression.

Q - Can I download captured videos?
A - Yes. My Watchful Eye can create a video log web page and allow you to download any captured videos.

Q - I use a high speed Internet connection. How do I obtain my IP?
A - If you are on a Dial-Up connection then make sure that under the Settings menu, the option True IP is not checked. If you are connected to the Internet through a High Speed network, then make sure that True IP is checked.

Q - Can I limit access to the web server or video stream?
A - Access can be turned on or off with a single click and can also be limited to a predefined list of IP addresses.

Q - How do I view the capture logs online?
A - Capture logs are viewable through any web browser. A motion log page, a captured stills page, a captured video page and a current frame page are all accessible with any HTML browser and your IP address.

Q - How do I capture stills on the remote end?
A - If you do not want to consume computer resources on the host, you can use My Watchful Client to capture the stills and log motion. Turn off all logging options for My Watchful Eye but leave Activate Motion Triggers set to on. With My Watchful Client, select the check box labeled Log Motion. All motion will now be logged at the remote location by My Watchful Client.

Q - Can I set the number of simultaneous web server connections?
A - Yes. The user can define any number of simultaneously allowed connections to the web browser.

Q - How do I interface with external hardware?
A - My Watchful Eye can send user definable data to a specified port at the start of a motion trigger and at the end of a motion trigger.
