The Completed Slicer

Here is a photograph of a built data slicer enclosed in a double DB-25 hood. The audio plug used was a female plug in order to keep the slicer compact. A male to male audio cable connects the data slicer to tapped audio from the scanner. Remember, the data slicer is powered by the computer, so it needs no external power source.

Closing It Up

In order to close off the open end of the double DB-25 hood, first cut a section of plastic card sized to fit the open end. Approximately 1.25 cm x 4.5 cm. Then cut a quarter of the plastic piece away and then cut a notch into either end as shown. This notch will be used to hold the audio cable coming from the slicer. When the back end has been installed, one can use a spot of hot glue to help retain the cable. The data slicer is complete.
